A Memorable Performance

When I was 16 years old, I said to my mother, “I want to buy a piano.” So I bought a Spinet.

I bought the piano and I had the piano until I got married, and I had it in the house. That was my instrument. I also performed in a different way. My husband retired from the board. He was a guidance counselor. I sang with him in nursing homes. I danced, and I loved singing. My voice is not the same. It never will be, but it doesn’t matter. As long as I can sing, that makes me happy and it makes some other people happy. Some people it doesn’t make happy. What can I do?

And I played a song called Heart and Soul: “I fell in love with him.” Yeah. That’s the easiest song. And I did it. Then I got married and I had to stop. Then my niece Beth wanted the piano. She wanted it to get her son piano lessons. He really plays. So, I gave it to her.
